The Story Behind Casa Sol
Craig and Jorge met on vacation in Mexico over 20 years ago, which was to begin their journey together in the hospitality industry. In 2004, Craig and Jorge purchased their first home in the enchanting district neighborhood of La Condesa in Mexico City which would eventually be what is today the beautiful “Red Tree House boutique hotel” hosting their first guest Vincent back in April 2006. When asked how they know most of their guest’s first names, their response is quite humbling, “It’s easy to remember when you care”.
Following up on their success, Jorge, a Oaxacaño local, and Craig, an American lover of Mexico fell in love with the charm of the Oaxaca coastline and spent years creating their dream of opening their second hotel “Casa Sol” later followed with “Maquil” a beautiful retreat of townhouse accommodations adjacent to Casa Sol.

Before you know it, you’ll know everyone here on a first-name basis!
Zipolite is a low-key beach resort that offers the world and its travelers the only official Mexican Nudist beach and much more. Come and enjoy the laid-back fresh and enchanting environment that Zipolite can very much brag about, but doesn’t.
Zipolite and the neighboring towns are centers for yoga, massage, and various healing arts lined with restaurants and bars, many with thatched roofs. Casa Sol is located right up from the beach at Zipolite. The area is popular for guest houses because of the great views, cool evening breezes, and tranquility that comes from being just far enough away from the music in town. A short nature trail connects Zipolite to Casa Sol and its neighbors. This path, the hillside terrain, and the associated steps may present a challenge to those who may have mobility problems.
